It all started during a book club when a snooping Shaana happened upon Alex studying for an upcoming physics test. After their brief encounter, the two found themselves bumping into each other at social gatherings, and eventually, Alex asked Shaana on their first date to burgers and a movie. This led to another date. And another. And then another...

Over the following year, Shaana and Alex got to know each other over long walks, home cooked meals and eight seasons of Game of Thrones. With Alex full time in school and Shaana busy with work and weaving, any spare time was spent in each other's company. Covid provided a convenient excuse for Shaana to move in with Alex. Living under the same roof, the couple began building their lives together.

In August 2023, Alex popped the question during their five year anniversary and Shaana had the ring on her finger before she could say, "yes!" The couple is so excited to start a new chapter of their love story and to share this moment with their close family and friends!
